DAY 3 OF 5

Eternity-minded

The apostle Paul understood that the reality of eternity must at all times supersede earthly dilemmas. Daily challenges usurp our attention, threatening to overwhelm us so that we “take our eyes off the prize”. What is the prize?

Simply put, plundering hell to populate Heaven! The big picture is eternity, and our role in it is of tremendous importance.

In 2 Corinthians 5:14–15 (ESV), we read: “For the love of God controls us . . . one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.”

The deed has been done, the redemptive work accomplished. However, such a glorious plan only impacts the life of an individual when they become aware of it and accept the Lord as their personal Savior. We are the messengers, the ones who have been entrusted with the word of truth (see 2 Corinthians 5:20). If we keep silent, the world perishes.

Dear friend, have you become distracted by earthly dilemmas? Have you become so obsessed with your career, wealth and personal issues that you no longer witness to those dying without Christ? Our priorities must be in order: eternity first; then everything else.

It is only the souls of men and women that will live on for eternity; all else fades away (see 1 John 2:17 and 1 Corinthians 7:31). In our words and deeds, we should be grabbing hold of every opportunity to direct people to Christ. We should be living with eternity in mind.

About this Plan

Spirit Of Fire By Tamryn Klintworth

Jesus needs all believers to share the good news, no matter where they are. Spirit of Fire encourages believers to work with the Holy Spirit, spread the promise of redemption through Jesus Christ, and set the captives free. Each day of this 5-day reading plan features thoughts on a specific theme (such as witnessing and baptism) and ends with a Scripture verse. The content for this reading plan is based on Tamryn Klintworth’s Spirit of Fire .
