Psalms 143:1-6
Psalms 143:1-6 The Message (MSG)
Listen to this prayer of mine, GOD; pay attention to what I’m asking. Answer me—you’re famous for your answers! Do what’s right for me. But don’t, please don’t, haul me into court; not a person alive would be acquitted there. The enemy hunted me down; he kicked me and stomped me within an inch of my life. He put me in a black hole, buried me like a corpse in that dungeon. I sat there in despair, my spirit draining away, my heart heavy, like lead. I remembered the old days, went over all you’ve done, pondered the ways you’ve worked, Stretched out my hands to you, as thirsty for you as a desert thirsty for rain.
Psalms 143:1-6 King James Version (KJV)
Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: In thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness. And enter not into judgment with thy servant: For in thy sight shall no man living be justified. For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; He hath smitten my life down to the ground; He hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; My heart within me is desolate. I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands. I stretch forth my hands unto thee: My soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.
Psalms 143:1-6 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Hear my prayer, O LORD, Give ear to my supplications! Answer me in Your faithfulness, in Your righteousness! And do not enter into judgment with Your servant, For in Your sight no man living is righteous. For the enemy has persecuted my soul; He has crushed my life to the ground; He has made me dwell in dark places, like those who have long been dead. Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me; My heart is appalled within me. I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your doings; I muse on the work of Your hands. I stretch out my hands to You; My soul longs for You, as a parched land. Selah.
Psalms 143:1-6 New Century Version (NCV)
LORD, hear my prayer; listen to my cry for mercy. Answer me because you are loyal and good. Don’t judge me, your servant, because no one alive is right before you. My enemies are chasing me; they crushed me to the ground. They made me live in darkness like those long dead. I am afraid; my courage is gone. I remember what happened long ago; I consider everything you have done. I think about all you have made. I lift my hands to you in prayer. As a dry land needs rain, I thirst for you.Selah

Psalms 143:1-6 New International Version (NIV)
LORD, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief. Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no one living is righteous before you. The enemy pursues me, he crushes me to the ground; he makes me dwell in the darkness like those long dead. So my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is dismayed. I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done. I spread out my hands to you; I thirst for you like a parched land.

Psalms 143:1-6 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Hear my prayer, O LORD, Listen to my supplications! Answer me in Your faithfulness, and in Your righteousness. And do not enter into judgment with Your servant, For in Your sight no man living is righteous or justified. [Ps 130:3; Rom 3:20-26; Gal 2:16] For the enemy has persecuted me, He has crushed my life down to the ground; He has made me dwell in dark places, like those who have been long dead. Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed and weak within me [wrapped in darkness]; My heart grows numb within me. ¶I remember the days of old; I meditate on all that You have done; I ponder the work of Your hands. I reach out my hands to You; My throat thirsts for You, as a parched land [thirsts for water]. Selah.
Psalms 143:1-6 New Living Translation (NLT)
Hear my prayer, O LORD; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. Don’t put your servant on trial, for no one is innocent before you. My enemy has chased me. He has knocked me to the ground and forces me to live in darkness like those in the grave. I am losing all hope; I am paralyzed with fear. I remember the days of old. I ponder all your great works and think about what you have done. I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain. Interlude
Psalms 143:1-6 The Passion Translation (TPT)
Lord, you must hear my prayer, for you are faithful to your promises. Answer my cry, O righteous God! Don’t bring me into your courtroom for judgment, for there is no one who is righteous before you. My enemies have chased and caught me and crushed my life into dust. Now I’m living in the darkness of death’s shadow. My inner being is in depression and my heart is heavy, dazed with despair. I remember the glorious miracles of days gone by, and I often think of all the wonders of old. Now I’m reaching out to you, thirsting for you like the dry, cracked ground thirsts for rain.
