1 Corinthians 12:2
1 Corinthians 12:2 New Living Translation (NLT)
You know that when you were still pagans, you were led astray and swept along in worshiping speechless idols.
1 Corinthians 12:1-3 The Message (MSG)
What I want to talk about now is the various ways God’s Spirit gets worked into our lives. This is complex and often misunderstood, but I want you to be informed and knowledgeable. Remember how you were when you didn’t know God, led from one phony god to another, never knowing what you were doing, just doing it because everybody else did it? It’s different in this life. God wants us to use our intelligence, to seek to understand as well as we can. For instance, by using your heads, you know perfectly well that the Spirit of God would never prompt anyone to say “Jesus be damned!” Nor would anyone be inclined to say “Jesus is Master!” without the insight of the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12:2 King James Version (KJV)
Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.
1 Corinthians 12:2 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
You know that when you were pagans, you were led astray to the mute idols, however you were led.
1 Corinthians 12:2 New Century Version (NCV)
You know the way you lived before you were believers. You let yourselves be influenced and led away to worship idols—things that could not speak.
1 Corinthians 12:2 American Standard Version (ASV)
Ye know that when ye were Gentiles ye were led away unto those dumb idols, howsoever ye might be led.
1 Corinthians 12:2 New International Version (NIV)
You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.
1 Corinthians 12:2 New King James Version (NKJV)
You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led.
1 Corinthians 12:2 Amplified Bible (AMP)
You know that when you were pagans, you were led off after speechless idols; however you were led off [whether by impulse or habit].
