The Hand Of God

The hand of the Lord is a mighty, powerful thing in the Scriptures. We see in the Bible that while the hand of God is dangerous to His enemies, it also empowers, guides, instructs, helps and holds His people. David said that the hand of the Lord enabled him to understand all the details of the plan to build the Temple.

What an amazing thing it is to have God’s hand on us. Can you imagine living everyday feeling it on your life? Knowing that God guides, protects, disciplines, and holds you at every moment of every day is an amazing thing to experience. It does not mean that everything will be great, but that we will see God’s hand in things.

God’s hand follows His heart. If we know the heart of God, if we go after it, we will have His hand on our lives. Knowing God is knowing His heart. When we know Him, we serve Him with our whole heart and mind. We know God’s heart through Scripture and through Jesus. God’s heart is for His people, His creation for whom He sent His Son.

His heart is for us, that we, as His Holy Church, as a team, would love one another; equip saints for ministry; care for widows, orphans, and those in need; worship Him together; learn more about Him through studying the Scriptures; and bring His Kingdom to those who do not know Him yet.

When we are after God’s heart, we can trust that everything else will take care of itself. If you are single, go after His heart and trust His hand to bring that right person. If you are a parent, go after God’s heart and see His hand in your family. Grow your kids up with the heart of God, and trust and watch the hand of God in their lives when they are older. In your marriage, if you are struggling, go after God’s heart, and let His hand do the healing and the guiding.

I pray the Lord would put His hand on His church, on our family, our marriages, on our lives, our ministries, and our jobs.
