How To Manage People's Perception Of YouSample
In general, who do people need you to be? How do you think you need change in order to serve and love them better?
With God’s help, why can’t you start becoming that person right now?
If you’re a Christ-follower, the divine third Person – the Holy Spirit – is already in you, ready and waiting to start the process of unifying your three selves into the leader and person He wants you to be.
So let’s welcome Him in, and give Him our first, or hidden, self. Let’s ask Him to remake us in the innermost parts – in our mind and heart and spirit.
We can give Him our first person as wet clay, surrendering our past hurt, humiliations and sins, so He can begin remoulding us into the likeness of Christ.
We should also pray for Him to extend His creative power into our second person, the one we present to the world in as good a light as possible. Ask Him to infuse true humility into your actions and words, flowing out from a heart of compassion.
As He works in us, the overlap between our three selves will start to increase, as the three circles move closer together. Picture them over time moving into the same position, sort of like a triple eclipse.
Having Jesus at the center is the magnet moving these circles together, until our three persons become one, with the cross at the epicenter.
Because God Himself is three Persons, recognizing our own various personages is a healthy way to relate to the Trinity. He is one, yet three.
The difference, of course, is that all three of His Persons align perfectly inside one circle. There are no inconsistencies in Him. No tensions between His personas.
He is the Son, the one we should emulate.
He is the Spirit, the one we should listen to and follow
And He is the Father, the one we should love, obey and fear.
With God’s help, we can be one whole Christ-centered person, speaking truth, meeting people’s needs, and loving them better.

About this Plan
Have you ever felt wrongly accused or criticized when you didn’t deserve it? Have you ever felt like people just don’t understand you? You may think it’s fruitless to try to manage people’s perceptions of you. But when you understand the biblical concept of your “three selves,” people’s opinions will be redefined in light of God’s own perspective.
