Romans 4:3
Romans 4:1-3 The Message (MSG)
So how do we fit what we know of Abraham, our first father in the faith, into this new way of looking at things? If Abraham, by what he did for God, got God to approve him, he could certainly have taken credit for it. But the story we’re given is a God-story, not an Abraham-story. What we read in Scripture is, “Abraham entered into what God was doing for him, and that was the turning point. He trusted God to set him right instead of trying to be right on his own.”
Romans 4:3 King James Version (KJV)
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
Romans 4:3 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
For what does the Scripture say? “ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS.”
Romans 4:3 New Century Version (NCV)
because the Scripture says, “Abraham believed God, and God accepted Abraham’s faith, and that faith made him right with God.”
Romans 4:3 American Standard Version (ASV)
For what saith the scripture? And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness.
Romans 4:3 New International Version (NIV)
What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”
Romans 4:3 New King James Version (NKJV)
For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
Romans 4:3 Amplified Bible (AMP)
For what does the Scripture say? “ABRAHAM BELIEVED IN (trusted, relied on) GOD, AND IT WAS CREDITED TO HIS ACCOUNT AS RIGHTEOUSNESS (right living, right standing with God).” [Gen 15:6]
Romans 4:3 New Living Translation (NLT)
For the Scriptures tell us, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.”
