Psalms 130:3-5
Psalms 130:3-6 The Message (MSG)
If you, GOD, kept records on wrongdoings, who would stand a chance? As it turns out, forgiveness is your habit, and that’s why you’re worshiped. I pray to GOD—my life a prayer— and wait for what he’ll say and do. My life’s on the line before God, my Lord, waiting and watching till morning, waiting and watching till morning.
Psalms 130:3-5 King James Version (KJV)
If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, That thou mayest be feared. I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, And in his word do I hope.
Psalms 130:3-5 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared. I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope.
Psalms 130:3-5 New Century Version (NCV)
LORD, if you punished people for all their sins, no one would be left, Lord. But you forgive us, so you are respected. I wait for the LORD to help me, and I trust his word.
Psalms 130:3-5 American Standard Version (ASV)
If thou, Jehovah, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, That thou mayest be feared. I wait for Jehovah, my soul doth wait, And in his word do I hope.
Psalms 130:3-5 New International Version (NIV)
If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you. I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.
Psalms 130:3-5 New King James Version (NKJV)
If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared. I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope.
Psalms 130:3-5 Amplified Bible (AMP)
If You, LORD, should keep an account of our sins and treat us accordingly, O Lord, who could stand [before you in judgment and claim innocence]? [Ps 143:2; Rom 3:20; Gal 2:16] But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared and worshiped [with submissive wonder]. [Deut 10:12] ¶I wait [patiently] for the LORD, my soul [expectantly] waits, And in His word do I hope.
Psalms 130:3-5 New Living Translation (NLT)
LORD, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive? But you offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear you. I am counting on the LORD; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word.
Psalms 130:3-5 The Passion Translation (TPT)
Lord, if you measured us and marked us with our sins, who would ever have their prayers answered? But your forgiving love is what makes you so wonderful. No wonder you are loved and worshiped! This is why I wait upon you, expecting your breakthrough, for your Word brings me hope.
