După ce au stat la masă, Isus i-a spus lui Símon Petru: „Símon, fiul lui Ioan, mă iubești mai mult decât aceștia?”. El i-a zis: „Da, Doamne, tu știi că te iubesc”. El i-a spus: „Paște mielușeii mei!”. El i-a zis iarăși, a doua oară: „Símon, fiul lui Ioan, mă iubești?”. El i-a spus: „Da, Doamne, tu știi că te iubesc”. I-a zis: „Paște oile mele!”. I‑a zis a treia oară: „Símon, fiul lui Ioan, mă iubești?”. Petru s-a întristat pentru că i-a zis a treia oară: „Mă iubești?” și i-a spus: „Doamne, tu știi toate, tu știi că te iubesc”. Isus i-a zis: „Paște oile mele!
