Winter Warm-Up

DAY 2 OF 21

“(They) all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.” - Acts 1: 14 (NKJ)

The disciples acted in one accord! That is they acted single-mindedly, unanimously, in harmony, in unity and without dissent when they prayed. Not only that, they specifically mentioned the women, most likely referring to Mary Magdalene, Salome, Susanna, Joanna, Mary and Martha of Bethany and possibly also a woman who had been a sinner, as being part of their prayer times in the upper room. Wow!

Jesus told us “For where two or three are gathered in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matt 18:20 TLB)

The Bible shows us that we can pray about the big things, and the little things “In His name” (according to His will) , and when we pray together in unity there is power.

A while ago as a family we were worried about accommodation for our son. We decided to pray out loud all together round the kitchen table and soon after went for a refreshing walk together on the beach. We said a friendly hello to someone we knew who walked past us, and then to our surprise returned back and said their daughter was looking for a house mate! God answered our specific need after our prayer in one accord.

So pray in one accord, single-mindedly, in unity at every opportunity.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, please help me to make the effort and time to gather to pray with others often! Let me be quick to pray in all situations, about every need, big or small, family or world wide. Most of all please remind us to thank You and worship You first of all. Amen.
