Fearless: A Six-Week Journey Sample
WEEK 3: O LORD, I AM WEAK
THE WATER OF HIS WORD
Read Colossians 3.
Consider it in light of all you have studied this week. Continue to ask God to reveal your sin and to allow you to see your sin as He sees your sin. Hear Pauls encouragement to the Colossians 3:5-10 and follow. Is there anything he hasnt mentioned?
REFLECT
To know what is right and not do it is sin. If there is something you know you should be doing and you keep putting it off or if there is something you know you are not supposed to do and you are doing it ask God for His help to change. Ask the Lord to help you mourn your sin and to hunger and thirst after righteousness. Stop and confess your sin and turn from your ways. He will give you His strength. This can be a painful process, it may not happen overnight, but it is essential in walking forward without fear. When we turn from our ways and turn toward the Lord we see the Lord and His power and understand our weakness and see our sin! We are able to see our Savior and His power and we feel safe. We are helped!
Look to the Lord and ask Him for His grace in your great need! Ask Him for the grace to live in that gracethe wonderful grace of the gospel! As He helps you walk forward in that grace, you will see the power of the gospel, and the power of fear will diminish!
Close in prayer.
FOCUS THE EYES OF YOUR HEART
Prayerfully consider and then try to recite Matthew 5:3-5.
Matthew 5:3-5
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
