Fearless: A Six-Week Journey Sample
WEEK 2: LORD, ARE YOU IN THE STORM?
THE WATER OF HIS WORD
Read Lamentations 3:1-20.
What do you hear Jeremiah saying about God? What do you observe from this passage? Really, did God make his teeth grind on gravel and cause him to cower in ashes? How could these things be true? Read on through Lamentations 3:21-66. Do you hear Jeremiahs hope in God? Do you hear his understanding?
WALK ON TRUTH
Jeremiah was showing that nothing remained in the land but desolationthe temple was destroyed, the covenant of God appeared to have been made void, and so all hope of salvation had been cut off. Yet hope still remainedprovided that the people sought God in true repentance and faith, and so Jeremiah proceeded to obey his calling. We are to look to God in all circumstances, knowing that God is God, God is good all of the time, and His purposes are right. He has promised He will never leave us nor forsake us. Will we believe these truths and humbly come up under His mighty hand?
FOCUS THE EYES OF YOUR HEART
Quietly recite todays focus verse to yourself. Hide it in your heart, meditate on it, and make it your prayer throughout the day.
Deuteronomy 32:39
See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no God beside me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand.
