It is a given fact that everyone will go through tough times. Dealing with broken relationships, not making the club you worked so hard for, divorce of parents, death of loved ones, and countless other events can leave us feeling everything from anger to loneliness. It’s moments like these when we doubt Jesus is with us and even think he doesn't care about what's going on in our lives.
When we read this story in John, we see Thomas, one of Jesus' disciples going through a tough time, and full of doubt. Thomas doubted the claims the disciples made of seeing Jesus rise from the dead. Yet, when Jesus arrives unexpectedly, Jesus doesn’t get mad at Thomas or is disappointed in him for asking questions. Instead, Jesus meets Thomas in his doubt and helps him to believe again. We don't have to worry if Jesus will judge us for having doubts because Jesus is with us when we have doubts and questions.
Today, take a few minutes to talk to God about something that brings up doubt or big questions about faith and life.
