We all don’t have to hit “rock bottom” to change, but unfortunately, many people do.

Sometimes it takes us getting to the very “end of our rope” to realize our way doesn’t work. I know because I tried doing it my way for years, and it only got worse. Simply put, “rock bottom” is wherever we decide to put the shovel down and stop digging.

When I put the shovel down and asked God to get me out of the hole I’d been digging for thirteen years, He extended His hand of grace and pulled me right out. No matter how deep the hole you have dug, God can and will reach down and pull you out. He just asks us to open our hearts to Him and let Him come in and change us from the inside out.

If you feel as though you’re at the end of your rope, grab hold of Jesus’s hand. And as you grab hold of His hand, remember that the holes in His hands are from the nails driven through them as He was pinned to the cross for you and me.

Prayer Tip

Ask God to walk you into the life He has for you. Ask Him to reveal to you how His amazing grace is enough to walk you into a complete transformation of your life. Ask Him to surround you with people who will love you and help you walk this new life with Him.

Action Step

Ask for help. When we humble ourselves at His feet, His grace and power enable us to overcome our weakness. “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” (2 Cor. 12:9) We were not created to do life alone; we were created to do this life as a family. Reach out to your church family, and ask them to help you in your time of need.
