O Senhor anunciou a palavra, e muitas mensageiras a proclamavam: “Reis e exércitos fogem em debandada; a dona de casa reparte os despojos. Mesmo quando vocês dormem entre os currais de ovelhas, as asas da minha pomba estão recobertas de prata; as suas penas, de ouro reluzente”. Quando o Todo-poderoso espalhou os reis, foi como neve no monte Zalmom. Montes de Basã, montes majestosos; montes escarpados, montes de Basã. Por que olham com inveja, ó montes escarpados, para o monte que Deus escolheu para habitação, onde o próprio SENHOR habitará para sempre? As carruagens de Deus são incontáveis, são milhares de milhares; nelas o Senhor veio do Sinai para o seu Lugar Santo. Quando subiste às alturas, ó SENHOR Deus, levaste cativos muitos prisioneiros; recebeste dádivas entre os homens, até mesmo rebeldes, para estabeleceres morada. Bendito seja o Senhor que, dia após dia, carrega os nossos fardos. Deus é a nossa salvação! Pausa O nosso Deus é um Deus que salva; ao Soberano SENHOR pertence o livramento da morte.

Os montes de Basã, altos e belos, foram criados por Deus, mas ele escolheu o monte Sião para ser a sua morada. Por que vocês, montes de Basã, estão com inveja? Saibam que Sião será a eterna morada de Deus. Cercado por milhares de carros, o Senhor deixa o monte Sinai e vem para sua morada, no seu santo lugar. Ele subiu às alturas, levando cativos muitos prisioneiros; recebeu homens como dádivas, até mesmo os rebeldes, e assim o Senhor Deus se faz presente no meio deles.
