Matthew 1:18-19
This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother Mary had promised to marry a man named Joseph. But before they lived together, she became pregnant. This happened by the power of the Holy Spirit, but Joseph didn’t know that. He thought that Mary hadn’t been faithful to him. He wanted to follow the law of Moses and didn't want to put her to shame in public. So he planned to break up with her quietly.
