How Christians Can Celebrate ChanukahSample
"Celebrating Chanukah – 7th Night"
God has made His wonders to be remembered (Psalm 111:4). We will remember.
Tonight is the seventh of the eight nights of Chanukah. We remember with awe God’s miracles, His provision, and His light. God is holy and pure. At Chanukah, we look back to the time in the history of Israel when God’s Holy Temple was defiled, and we see the desire of the people to purify and rededicate it as quickly as possible to honor Him.
Within Messianic Judaism, we recognize that Scripture tells us God’s Spirit dwells within Believers in Yeshua; we are the Temple of God today. As seven Chanukah candles are placed in their holders tonight and lit with the Servant Candle, we recite the blessings and reflect on God’s holiness and purity.
Chanukah Blessings
Blessed are You, LORD, our God, king of the universe, Who has sanctified us by His commandments and has given us Yeshua the Messiah, the light of the world.
Blessed are You, LORD, our God, king of the universe, Who has performed miracles for our ancestors in those days at this time.
Holy, Holy, Holy
“Holy, holy, holy, is Adonai-Tsvaot! The whole earth is full of His glory” (Isaiah 6:3 TLV).
“The words of the Lord are pure words, as silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times” (Psalm 12:6 NASB).
“The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes” (Psalm 19:8 NASB).
Father, You are holy! Thank You that You are utterly pure and clean, good and holy. May we daily seek to know You more fully and become more and more like You as You empower us through Your Spirit dwelling inside us. Help us to worship You in purity.
Father, thank You for purifying our hearts through Yeshua our righteousness.
