Psalms 94:17-20
Psalms 94:16-23 The Message (MSG)
Who stood up for me against the wicked? Who took my side against evil workers? If GOD hadn’t been there for me, I never would have made it. The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,” your love, GOD, took hold and held me fast. When I was upset and beside myself, you calmed me down and cheered me up. Can Misrule have anything in common with you? Can Troublemaker pretend to be on your side? They ganged up on good people, plotted behind the backs of the innocent. But GOD became my hideout, God was my high mountain retreat, Then boomeranged their evil back on them: for their evil ways he wiped them out, our GOD cleaned them out for good.
Psalms 94:17-20 King James Version (KJV)
Unless the LORD had been my help, My soul had almost dwelt in silence. When I said, My foot slippeth; Thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. In the multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul. Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, Which frameth mischief by a law?
Psalms 94:17-20 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
If the LORD had not been my help, My soul would soon have dwelt in the abode of silence. If I should say, “My foot has slipped,” Your lovingkindness, O LORD, will hold me up. When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your consolations delight my soul. Can a throne of destruction be allied with You, One which devises mischief by decree?
Psalms 94:17-20 New Century Version (NCV)
If the LORD had not helped me, I would have died in a minute. I said, “I am about to fall,” but, LORD, your love kept me safe. I was very worried, but you comforted me and made me happy. Crooked leaders cannot be your friends. They use the law to cause suffering.
Psalms 94:17-20 American Standard Version (ASV)
Unless Jehovah had been my help, My soul had soon dwelt in silence. When I said, My foot slippeth; Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, held me up. In the multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul. Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with thee, Which frameth mischief by statute?
Psalms 94:17-20 New International Version (NIV)
Unless the LORD had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death. When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, LORD, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy. Can a corrupt throne be allied with you— a throne that brings on misery by its decrees?
Psalms 94:17-20 New King James Version (NKJV)
Unless the LORD had been my help, My soul would soon have settled in silence. If I say, “My foot slips,” Your mercy, O LORD, will hold me up. In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul. Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, Have fellowship with You?
Psalms 94:17-20 Amplified Bible (AMP)
¶If the LORD had not been my help, I would soon have dwelt in [the land of] silence. If I say, “My foot has slipped,” Your compassion and lovingkindness, O LORD, will hold me up. When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your comforts delight me. Can a throne of destruction be allied with You, One which frames and devises mischief by decree [under the sacred name of law]?
Psalms 94:17-20 New Living Translation (NLT)
Unless the LORD had helped me, I would soon have settled in the silence of the grave. I cried out, “I am slipping!” but your unfailing love, O LORD, supported me. When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. Can unjust leaders claim that God is on their side— leaders whose decrees permit injustice?
Psalms 94:17-20 The Passion Translation (TPT)
I would have been killed so many times if you had not been there for me. When I screamed out, “Lord, I’m doomed!” your fiery love was stirred, and you raced to my rescue. Whenever my busy thoughts were out of control, the soothing comfort of your presence calmed me down and overwhelmed me with delight. It’s obvious to all; you will have nothing to do with corrupt rulers who pass laws that empower evil and defeat what is right.
Psalms 94:17-20 English Standard Version 2016 (ESV)
If the LORD had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence. When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O LORD, held me up. When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul. Can wicked rulers be allied with you, those who frame injustice by statute?
