When Jesus heard this, he said to them, “Those who are healthy don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”

Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for humans, not humans for the Sabbath.

When they could not get near to him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him. When they had dug through it, they lowered the mat that the paralyzed man was lying on.

“In order for y’all to know that the Son of Humanity has authority on earth to forgive sins,” he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat, and go to your house.”

Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, pick up your mat and walk?’

Immediately, he got up, picked up the mat, and went out in front of them all. They were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
