Genesis 3:20

Spiegel je aan vrouwen in de Bijbel. Vrouwen zoals jij en ik. Vrouwen met zelfzuchtige, jaloerse, egoïstische neigingen. Vrouwen die geplaagd werden door ziekte of onvruchtbaarheid. Vrouwen die te maken hadden met ontrouwe echtgenoten of die zelf ontrouw waren geweest. Vrouwen die alle hoop verloren hadden. Laat je in dit leesplan inspireren door EVA en haar lied.

In dit leesplan staan we stil bij 2 dappere vrouwen uit de Bijbel, bij Eva en bij Deborah. Met Eva kwam de komst van relaties in de wereld. Hoe wil God dat we daarin staan? Deborah leefde in een moeilijke tijd, hoe bleef zij staande?

These are unprecedented times for those of us who are alive on planet earth at this moment. Historically, we can find hope if we turn to the One who made it all and is Lord of all. What does the Bible say about why these things happen, what is God’s response to it, and what is my hope in life and death?

As New York pastor Rich Villodas defines it, a deeply formed life is a life marked by integration, intersection, intertwining, and interweaving, holding together multiple layers of spiritual formation. This kind of life calls us to be people who cultivate lives with God in prayer, move toward reconciliation, work for justice, have healthy inner lives, and see our bodies and sexuality as gifts to steward.
