A HARD Leader: Part III
This week we are discussing Moses’ leadership qualities, using the acronym HARD. So far, we’ve discussed being Humble and Approachable, and today we will talk about being a Representative of God.
Leadership can become intoxicating when many people seek your wisdom. It’s easy to think it’s your wisdom they seek rather than God's.
Moses led hundreds of thousands who constantly brought their disputes and conflicts to him. Rather than taking credit for his power, Moses realized he was simply a Representative of God.
In Exodus 18:15, when Moses’ father-in-law asks Moses why he was judging all the cases, Moses answers, “Because the people come to me to seek God’s will.”
God desires you to represent Him well by not keeping the glory for yourself.
Questions for Reflection
- What is the culture in your company? Is it possible to be open with your religious convictions? If not, how might you still give the glory to God?
- Who else should receive glory for your success? What other members of your team or other employees contributed to your success? Is there anyone whose achievements are going unnoticed or underappreciated?
