Financial Unity in Marriage: A 3-Day Biblical Guideಮಾದರಿ
Hey Friend!
Money matters can be a real sticking point in marriage, can't they?
But here's the thing: when we approach our finances with a shared mindset of stewardship, it can make a world of difference.
Think about it this way:
Everything we have is on loan from God.
The Bible puts it like this in Psalm 24:1, "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it." That includes our bank accounts, our homes, and, yes, even the fancy coffee makers we all need.
When we start seeing our resources as God's resources, it shifts our whole approach.
So, in our marriages, instead of "mine" and "yours," we start thinking in terms of "ours" - and more importantly, "His."
This mindset can really help reduce those money squabbles that pop up in so many marriages.
Now, this doesn't mean you'll always see eye-to-eye on every financial decision.
We're all wired differently, after all.
But it does mean you're working towards the same goal: managing God's resources wisely together.
Jesus had some pretty strong words about our relationship with money. He said in Matthew 6:24, "No one can serve two masters... You cannot serve both God and money."
When we put our relationship with God first, it naturally leads to more unity in how we handle our finances as a couple.
So, how about trying to view your next financial decision through this lens?
Whether it's a big purchase or just planning your monthly budget, ask yourselves: "How can we manage this in a way that honors God and strengthens our unity?"
You might be surprised at how this simple shift in perspective can transform your financial discussions!
See you tomorrow to discuss trust and honesty!
