Next Steps To Fulfilling God’s Plan For Your Life!

DAY 2 OF 5

Facing Your Fears

You will never move forward until you learn to face your fears and move past them. Being a Christian doesn’t mean that you are fearless. We all have fears but what’s important is that we rely on the Word of God to help us move beyond them.

As you begin to walk out the plan that God has for your life, you will no doubt be met with unpredicted battles, roadblocks, setbacks, mountains, and giants along the path. When David, the young shepherd boy, was told by his father to take some provisions to his brothers, he had no idea that his life would forever be changed that day.

He walked to a scene of battle that had no activity. King Saul and the entire army of Israelites were frozen in fear because of a giant named Goliath. They were stuck at their camp and had no intentions on going out to battle.

When David arrived he heard the taunts of the giant and had no hesitation to go out and fight with him. He accepted the challenge and quickly defeated the giant with one rock and a slingshot. One blow to the giant’s forehead sent him crashing down to the ground.

What was it about David that was so different?

What would give a teenage boy the confidence to face an enemy that was way more advanced and experienced than he was?

The thing that set David apart from the entire army of Israelites was the fact that David knew that His God was for Him. He had already overcome his fears when he fought the bear and lion. He knew the same God that helped him defeat the bear and the lion would also help him defeat the giant.

1. What is it that you know God is calling you to do at this moment?

2. Identify the obstacles and distractions that are keeping you from moving forward.

3. Ask God for strength and guidance to get beyond any fears that are holding you back.
