The Mizo community lives in the States of Mizoram, Assam, Manipur, Tripura, and Jampui Hill areas. Some are in Bangladesh and Myanmar also. The estimated population is over 2 million. Mizo Christians in Mizoram are 87%. The first Mizo NT was published in 1917 and the complete Bible in Mizo in 1959. A milestone of translation works of the Bible Society of India in this language is the publication of the Mizo Bible (CL) in 1995 and also the Mizo Study Bible in 2009
