Hatred Towards Israel and the Jewish People

DAY 6 OF 7

Blessing Israel

In recent days you have read a lot about the hatred towards Israel. Today I want to talk about blessing Israel. Early on in history, God promised Abraham that anyone who blesses Israel will be blessed. Conversely: anyone who curses Israel will be cursed. This principle is timeless and can be seen throughout history. There have been many civilizations, nations, and kingdoms that have tried to destroy the Jewish people: Ancient Egypt; the Philistines; the Assyrian, Babylonian, Persian, Greek, Roman and Byzantine Empires; the Crusaders; the Spanish Empire; Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. What is left of their power now? Nothing. They have all disappeared.

The Jewish people are insignificant among the nations, but they have a Friend in the highest heavens. So it is better to bless Israel than to curse them. But how? First of all, I think it is good to realize and understand that hatred towards God's people is at its root hatred towards God Himself. When you see that, you understand that loving God also means loving His people. By the way, loving all your neighbors is a sign of your love for God!

I think blessing Israel begins when we abandon our “Christian pride” and acknowledge God's plan with Israel. What comes next? That is something between you and God. Ask Him how you can bless Israel. Whether it is through financial support, volunteering, standing up against antisemitism, or simply - but so importantly - praying for Israel. Because whoever blesses Israel can count on God's blessing!

Pray today: Lord God, You are the Mighty One of Israel. You have shown that throughout history. Those who have cursed Your people have fallen. Help me to bless Israel. Be near to them and protect them from all dangers. Amen.

About this Plan

Hatred Towards Israel and the Jewish People

Israel has been hated as a people throughout the ages. Even before they entered the land of Israel, King Balak hired the prophet Balaam to curse the people. Later Haman sought to destroy the Jews. Antisemitism has taken various forms throughout the centuries. Unfortunately, it was often fueled from within the Church. Where does this aversion to Israel even come from?
