The intentionality of Jesus’ questions shows that He’s making right what was wrong. Where Peter betrayed Jesus before, now he gets to rectify the situation. Because of the resurrection, Peter knew he was forgiven. And because of that very same thing, Jesus offers the same forgiveness—the same chance after chance to start over—to us.
