DAY 18 OF 21

Jesus wasn’t hard of hearing, yet for some reason, He asked Peter over and over again if he loved Him. Why? Well, for Peter, this wasn’t a test. It was an opportunity.

Right before Jesus was crucified, Peter denied knowing Jesus three times. Now, he’s declaring his love for Jesus three times. The intentionality of Jesus’ questions shows that He’s making right what was wrong. Where Peter betrayed Jesus before, now he gets to rectify the situation. Because of the resurrection, Peter knew he was forgiven. And because of that very same thing, Jesus offers the same forgiveness—the same chance after chance to start over—to us.

Today, write down the mistake you’ve made recently that’s weighing heaviest on your mind. Next to that, write down the word “forgiven” as a reminder of what Jesus did for you once and for all.
