DAY 4 OF 10

Holistic Health

I am the Lord your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. Do not make yourself unclean by any creature that moves above on the ground.
Leviticus 11:44-45  (NIV)

In these 3 chapters, we read God’s instructions to His people regarding what is considered clean or unclean. God also set a standard to help Israel to avoid ungodly lifestyle of pagans. these rules are to protect God’s children from harmful food and diseases and unholy things.  Although some instructions are no longer applicable to us who are in Christ, the spiritual principle is the same – God wants us to have a holistic health, a life that reflects a glimpse of the holiness of God by bringing heaven onto earth.

Prayer:

Father God, thank You for giving us both heavenly wisdom and common sense in carrying out our daily lives. Lead us away from harm, physically and spiritually, so we can be ‘prime’ examples that glorify You in this fallen world. While some standards of purity may have been compromised in the modern age, always remind us the meaning You have behind each rule in Leviticus and encourage us to obey these rules, out of love and respect to You, God, and not out of coercion, in Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan

Through the Bible: Leviticus

The last chapter of Exodus ends with an interesting detail – Moses can’t enter the tent of meeting because it is filled with God’s glory. God’s presence is so holy that even Moses can’t come near! Therefore, God must sanctify Moses and His people for holiness, and this is what Leviticus is about. Leviticus means “And He Called”. God calls us to repentance and a lifelong journey of holiness.
