Romans 4:20
Romans 4:19-25 The Message (MSG)
Abraham didn’t focus on his own impotence and say, “It’s hopeless. This hundred-year-old body could never father a child.” Nor did he survey Sarah’s decades of infertility and give up. He didn’t tiptoe around God’s promise asking cautiously skeptical questions. He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God, sure that God would make good on what he had said. That’s why it is said, “Abraham was declared fit before God by trusting God to set him right.” But it’s not just Abraham; it’s also us! The same thing gets said about us when we embrace and believe the One who brought Jesus to life when the conditions were equally hopeless. The sacrificed Jesus made us fit for God, set us right with God.
Romans 4:20 King James Version (KJV)
he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God
Romans 4:20 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God
Romans 4:20 New Century Version (NCV)
He never doubted that God would keep his promise, and he never stopped believing. He grew stronger in his faith and gave praise to God.
Romans 4:20 American Standard Version (ASV)
yet, looking unto the promise of God, he wavered not through unbelief, but waxed strong through faith, giving glory to God
Romans 4:20 New International Version (NIV)
Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God
Romans 4:20 New King James Version (NKJV)
He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God
Romans 4:20 Amplified Bible (AMP)
But he did not doubt or waver in unbelief concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and empowered by faith, giving glory to God
