Psalms 127:1
Psalms 127:1 The Passion Translation (TPT)
If God’s grace doesn’t help the builders, they will labor in vain to build a house. If God’s mercy doesn’t protect the city, all the sentries will circle it in vain.
Psalms 127:1 English Standard Version 2016 (ESV)
Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
Psalms 127:1-2 The Message (MSG)
If GOD doesn’t build the house, the builders only build shacks. If GOD doesn’t guard the city, the night watchman might as well nap. It’s useless to rise early and go to bed late, and work your worried fingers to the bone. Don’t you know he enjoys giving rest to those he loves?
Psalms 127:1 King James Version (KJV)
Except the LORD build the house, They labour in vain that build it: Except the LORD keep the city, The watchman waketh but in vain.
Psalms 127:1 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain.
Psalms 127:1 New Century Version (NCV)
If the LORD doesn’t build the house, the builders are working for nothing. If the LORD doesn’t guard the city, the guards are watching for nothing.
Psalms 127:1 American Standard Version (ASV)
Except Jehovah build the house, They labor in vain that build it: Except Jehovah keep the city, The watchman waketh but in vain.
Psalms 127:1 New International Version (NIV)
Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
Psalms 127:1 New King James Version (NKJV)
Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.
