Divine Touches

Throughout this plan, we’ve read that Jesus expresses His healing authority and reveals God's divine power. Every touch signifies God’s heart for His children, displaying His compassion, mercy, and love.

Forgiveness is deeply intertwined with spiritual healing, as it restores peace, fosters reconciliation, and leads to personal growth and freedom. For example, forgiveness is not only about releasing someone else from their wrongs but also about releasing yourself from the burden of unforgiveness, which can affect your relationship with God. This act of forgiving can be seen as a form of spiritual cleansing and renewal.

Some healings activate a renewed faith, while in others, faith is initiated. Most of all, when social barriers are broken, relationships with God and others are restored. Jesus’ willingness to touch those considered outcasts—like lepers or the sick—challenges societal norms and demonstrates His power to redefine relationships and acceptance. This shows how His touch can break down any barrier, great or small, to bring about the unification of body and soul.

We’ve learned His touch is not just physical; it creates an emotional bond. When He weeps for Lazarus in John 11:35, His compassion for the grief of others is evident. This emotional connection often accompanies His healing actions, showing His deep love. Jesus models compassion for His followers, encouraging them to extend the same love and care to others. His teachings and actions inspire believers to respond to the needs of those around them with empathy, understanding, and kindness.

Isaiah 53:4-5 (NIV), Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. Jesus relates to your suffering. The touch of Jesus is a powerful expression of His compassion, revealing His deep love for humanity and His desire to bring healing and restoration.

The touch of Jesus is indeed powerful, encompassing mercy, love, grace, and transformation. Each touch embodies His compassion and authority, inviting individuals to deeper relationships with Him. Each touch of Jesus is deeply rooted in His heart.

Trust God to know that He knows your needs as you express your faith to Him and be open to how He supplies. He knows, hears, sees, and acts. No need is too great for Him. And each touch is a divine touch of love, compassion, and His tender-loving care.
