Working for God's Glory

DAY 3 OF 7

Men of Integrity

Today, we're discussing why we are men of a higher calling: men with integrity.

Daniel was a man with integrity. Daniel was distinguished above all the other high officials and satraps because he walked with God, and the Spirit was with him. The other jealous officials couldn’t find anything about Daniel’s work to accuse him of, so they attacked his faith in God instead.

Brothers, even if we are unaware, unbelievers observe our actions. Just like Daniel, we are being watched because we possess something different. Let their observation motivate us to be faithful to our Father with our words and actions.

The dictionary defines integrity as “a steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code.” Doing the right thing, even if it requires extra effort, especially when no one is looking, will serve us well when others may decide to sabotage our work, plans, projects, or career advances. Our faith in God should be central to our lives, not our careers or work.

The result of our faith is integrity.

We should also pray—always. Like Daniel, prayer is not just to be used when the going gets tough, but all the time. God desires a close relationship with us, even in work situations, where we spend much of our time. Work is not the place to forget about God.

Brothers, I used to pray in the morning and forget about God until the following morning. But through tough times, I have realized that God is needed for every meeting and every email. He loves the details of our lives, and we should draw close to Him in prayer through all of it.

Prayer: Father, we know we want to do things ourselves most days. Thank You for being there for us through every battle and decision. Please help us be faithful in everything we do today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Reflection: What can you do differently today to help you remember God is there for you in every action and decision?
