Playbook: The Game Plan for Navigating Temptation

DAY 11 OF 28

Life can feel pretty messy when we give in to temptation. Maybe that’s because what usually follows are feelings of guilt, shame, or regret. Sometimes we end up feeling stuck—like there’s no way out or no chance to start over. If you’ve found yourself feeling that way, don’t be discouraged. Remember, even Jesus faced temptation! Though He didn’t give in, we can learn a lot from how He handled it. And more than that, we can trust that He knows what we’re facing and how we’re feeling in it. We can rely on His example, His love, and His forgiveness to help us start again.

This week, ask a trusted adult in your life, like a parent, Small Group Leader, or even an older sibling, to read the story of Jesus’ temptation in Scripture with you. Talk to them about what it shows you about how to face your temptations and how to rely on God for strength and forgiveness in those moments.
