[Wisdom for Kids] the Purpose of Proverbs

DAY 2 OF 7

Book of Proverbs

Solomon wanted to share the wisdom he received from God with others, so he wrote the Book of Proverbs. Solomon tells us that the book’s purpose is “to teach people how to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just, and fair” (Proverbs 1:3).

Wisdom comes from God to touch our lives and make them a beautiful fragrance of His love that blesses others.

Have you ever met a really wise person or heard a very wise saying? Have your parents ever shared their wisdom to help you learn how to live your life?

Wisdom isn’t a task but rather advice about how to proceed so you can be successful. Wisdom is supposed to be received and welcomed like a friend and then shared with others. The more lives wisdom touches, the more people will be blessed by it.

(Parents/adults – talk to your children about who helped you gain the wisdom you needed to live a godly life. Share one piece of helpful or godly advice that helped you while growing up).

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for sharing Your wisdom with Solomon. I want to welcome Your wisdom in my life and then share it with my family and friends. In the name of Jesus, amen.
