Enter Wild: A 5-Day Devotional by Carlos Whittaker

DAY 4 OF 5

“Enter Wild”

I’m hoping you see how everything we have covered in these devotionals fits together.

· Jesus promises an abundant life, which is access to His power and presence.

· To receive this abundance, you first have to Enter Rest and hear from God.

· You also need to Enter War and receive spiritual healing and forgiveness in your own life.

Now for the fun part. Once you win the war, you get to Enter Wild. You are now at a place where you can begin to step into the real power and excitement of our faith.

I want to let you know that it may not be like you imagined. Stepping into the land of miracles, signs, and wonders is not for the faint of heart or for those who want to do this Christianity thing only on the weekends.

When you first experience wild, you are going to want to tell all your friends about it. A few will believe you, but many won’t. And you will look at them like, Wait. Why would I lie to you? This is really happening. This is real.

And yet you shouldn’t expect to start with raising the dead. It’s okay to start small with your requests and expectations.

So often we miss hearing God because we are waiting for some massive revelation and God wants to give us simple instructions. If we disobey or don’t hear His prompting in the small things, why in the world would He give us the big things?

That’s why Jesus told us to become like little children, which means not to be high minded and think we know it all. To tune into God’s frequency, you must be willing to hear His voice in the small things.

He called a little child to Him, and placed the child among them. And He said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:2–4 NIV)

It’s not complicated. Ask. Hear. Receive. Ask. Hear. Receive. Ask. Hear. Receive.

Wild is waiting!

Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit,

It’s time. Would You blow my mind today? Will You explode any sort of box I have ever placed You in and let those limits run wild?

I specifically ask that You reveal Yourself in every situation throughout my day. I ask You to turn my worry into wonder and my anxiety into amazement.

In the name of Jesus, amen.
