Jozèf se yon jenn towo, yon jenn towo bò yon sous dlo, li janbe miray pou al manje zèb. Y'ap chache l kont, y'ap voye wòch sou li. Moun k'ap voye flèch yo tounen yon pèsekisyon pou li. Men, banza pa li a rete fèm, ponyèt li pa fèbli, gremesi pouvwa Bondye Jakòb la, Bondye ki gadò pèp Izrayèl la. Se li ki tout pwoteksyon yo. Sa sòti nan Bondye papa ou la k'ap ede ou, nan Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a k'ap beni ou avèk benediksyon lapli ki sòti anwo nan syèl la, avèk benediksyon sous dlo k'ap sòti anba tè a, avèk benediksyon ki sòti nan tete ak nan vant manman. Benediksyon papa ou yo pi plis pase benediksyon mòn ki la pou tout tan yo. Se pou benediksyon sa yo tonbe sou tèt Jozèf, sou tèt moun Bondye te chwazi nan mitan tout frè l yo. Benjamen, se yon bèt devoran. Nan maten, li devore sa li trape. Li separe sa li pran nan aswè. Men douz branch fanmi Izrayèl yo. Men sa papa yo te di yo. Li beni yo, li bay chak moun benediksyon pa yo. Apre sa, Jakòb ba yo lòd sa a: — Mwen menm, mwen pral jwenn zansèt mwen yo. Antere m' kote yo antere yo nan kavo ki nan jaden Efwon, moun Et la, nan twou wòch ki nan jaden Makpela a, anfas Manmre, nan peyi Kanaran. Se Abraram ki te achte twou wòch sa a ak tout jaden an nan men Efwon, moun Et la, pou sèvi l simityè. Se la yo te antere Abraram ak Sara, madanm li. Se la yo te antere Izarak ak Rebeka, madanm li. Se la tou mwen te antere Leya. Se nan men mesye Et yo nou te achte jaden an ak tout twou wòch ki sou li a. Lè Jakòb fin pale konsa ak pitit gason l yo, li lonje kò l sou kabann lan, li mouri, l'al jwenn fanmi li yo ki te mouri deja.

Joseph est un arbre magnifique qui pousse près d’une source. Ses branches dépassent le mur. Des hommes lui ont lancé des flèches, ils l’ont provoqué, ils lui ont fait la guerre. Mais il a tenu son arc solidement, ses bras et ses mains sont restés souples. Reçois comme bénédiction la pluie qui descend du ciel, l’eau qui vient de la profondeur de la terre, ainsi que beaucoup d’enfants et des troupeaux nombreux. Reçois tout cela par la force du Dieu puissant qui est mon Dieu, par le nom du Berger qui est le rocher d’Israël, par mon Dieu qui vient à ton secours, par le Tout-Puissant qui te bénit. Les bénédictions de ton père dépassent les bienfaits des montagnes qui existent depuis toujours. Elles dépassent les richesses des collines d’autrefois. Que ces bénédictions descendent sur la tête de Joseph, sur celui qui a été mis à part parmi ses frères ! Benjamin est un loup qui déchire. Le matin, il mange une bête, et le soir, il partage ce qu’il a pris. » Tous ceux-là forment les douze tribus d’Israël. Ce sont les paroles que leur père leur a dites quand il les a bénis. Il a donné à chacun une bénédiction particulière. Ensuite, Jacob leur donne cet ordre : « Quand je serai mort, enterrez-moi dans la tombe de mes ancêtres. C’est la grotte qui est dans le champ d’Éfron le Hittite, à Makpéla, près de Mamré, en Canaan. Abraham a acheté ce champ à Éfron, pour être propriétaire de la tombe . C’est là qu’on a enterré Abraham et sa femme Sara, puis Isaac et sa femme Rébecca. C’est là que j’ai enterré Léa. Le champ et la grotte qui se trouve là ont été achetés aux Hittites. » Quand Jacob a fini de donner ses ordres à ses fils, il se couche, puis il rejoint ses ancêtres.

“Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine near a spring, whose branches climb over a wall. With bitterness archers attacked him; they shot at him with hostility. But his bow remained steady, his strong arms stayed limber, because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel, because of your father’s God, who helps you, because of the Almighty, who blesses you with blessings of the skies above, blessings of the deep springs below, blessings of the breast and womb. Your father’s blessings are greater than the blessings of the ancient mountains, than the bounty of the age-old hills. Let all these rest on the head of Joseph, on the brow of the prince among his brothers. “Benjamin is a ravenous wolf; in the morning he devours the prey, in the evening he divides the plunder.” All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father said to them when he blessed them, giving each the blessing appropriate to him. Then he gave them these instructions: “I am about to be gathered to my people. Bury me with my fathers in the cave in the field of Ephron the Hittite, the cave in the field of Machpelah, near Mamre in Canaan, which Abraham bought along with the field as a burial place from Ephron the Hittite. Joseph est un rameau fertile d’un arbre plein de fruits ╵planté près d’une source. Ses branches grimpent et s’élancent ╵par-dessus la muraille. Des archers le provoquent, ╵le prennent à partie, et le harcèlent de leurs flèches. Mais son arc reste ferme car ses bras pleins de force ╵conservent leur souplesse grâce au secours ╵du Puissant de Jacob, qui est le berger et le Roc ╵sur lequel Israël se fonde. Oui, le Dieu de ton père ╵viendra à ton secours, le Tout-Puissant te bénira. Qu’il veuille te bénir d’en haut ╵par des pluies abondantes et par des eaux d’en bas ╵où repose l’abîme, par de nombreux enfants ╵et beaucoup de troupeaux. Les bénédictions de ton père surpassent celles des montagnes antiques et les meilleurs produits ╵des collines anciennes. Que ces bénédictions ╵soient sur la tête de Joseph, et sur le front ╵du prince de ses frères ! Benjamin est semblable ╵à un loup qui déchire. Dès le matin, ╵il dévore sa proie, et sur le soir encore, ╵répartit le butin. Tous ceux-là ont formé les douze tribus d’Israël, c’est ainsi que leur parla leur père et qu’il les bénit, en prononçant pour chacun sa bénédiction propre. Jacob leur donna ses instructions : Je vais aller rejoindre mes ancêtres, enterrez-moi auprès de mes pères dans la caverne qui se trouve dans le champ d’Ephrôn le Hittite, dans la caverne du champ de Makpéla, vis-à-vis de Mamré, au pays de Canaan, la caverne qu’Abraham a achetée, avec le champ, à Ephrôn le Hittite en propriété funéraire. C’est là qu’on a enterré Abraham et sa femme Sara ; c’est là qu’on a enterré Isaac et sa femme Rébecca. C’est là aussi que j’ai enterré Léa. Le champ et la caverne qui s’y trouve ont été achetés aux Hittites. Lorsque Jacob eut achevé d’énoncer ses instructions à ses fils, il ramena ses pieds sur son lit, expira et fut réuni à ses ancêtres.
