Les fils de Jacob arrivent en Égypte en même temps que d’autres pour acheter du blé. En effet, il y a la famine dans tout le pays de Canaan. Joseph est le gouverneur du pays, et c’est lui qui organise la vente du blé pour tout le monde. En arrivant, ses frères s’inclinent jusqu’à terre devant lui.

So Israel’s sons were among those who went to buy grain, for there was famine in the land of Canaan also. Now Joseph was the governor of the land, the person who sold grain to all its people. So when Joseph’s brothers arrived, they bowed down to him with their faces to the ground.

Les fils d’Israël arrivèrent en Egypte au milieu des autres gens qui s’y rendaient, car la famine sévissait au pays de Canaan. Joseph gouvernait tout le pays. C’était lui qui supervisait la vente du blé à toute la population du pays. Les frères de Joseph arrivèrent donc et se prosternèrent devant lui, face contre terre.
