Standing Strong in the Stormનમૂનો
The Other Side: When You Have Crossed Over
Until Jesus appeared atop the waves, the disciples likely had serious doubts that they would ever see the other side of the lake. Sound familiar? Have you ever gone through a trial so daunting that you didn’t think you would ever make it through to the other side?
When you stick it out, stay faithful, and navigate the storm, one thing that you will find on the other side is an intense feeling of gratitude to God for bringing you through and a great sense of relief that you didn’t give up. On the other side, you realize all the blessings of the Lord that you would have forfeited if you had listened to your emotions and quit the struggle.
Although the clouds of the storm may make you seem like you are alone, like you must battle the waves of adversity in your own strength, this is not the case. Second Corinthians 1:3-4 tells us that God is a God of compassion, and Christ is our comfort in our troubles. We can count on Him to aid us in whatever struggles we encounter.
Once we make it to the other side, we need to be willing to share how God helped us through our difficult times, as is stated in 2 Timothy 1:8.
Has your life ever been impacted in a positive way by hearing someone else’s story? Most likely, the answer is yes. Aren’t you glad that person told their story? If they had kept silent, the impact they made on you would never have happened. An untold story makes no impact.
You never know what God could do if you would allow Him to empower you to be a witness that shares the testimony of how the Lord has helped you to make it through your toughest days.
If we give in to discouragement and give up, that decision will not only be detrimental to us but also damage the lives of all the people that God intended us to encourage and comfort. Don’t get distracted. Don’t get discouraged. Keep putting one foot in front of the other, and you will keep moving forward. Don’t Give Up! You can make it through your storm all the way to the other side—and greater things are waiting for you there!
