RECAP: Happy Easter!! This weekend we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus. This event has had greater impact on our world than any other event in human history. The resurrection of Jesus is what Christianity is founded on and it’s what makes the difference between religion and relationship. Jesus came to die for our sins and then defeated death and rose again from the grave and because He experienced a resurrection you can too. Jesus didn’t come for religion – to make bad people good, but to make dead people alive. Where do you need a resurrection? There’s actually a process to resurrection – God searches for us, rescues us, will restore you, and redeem you. As He does, you get to know Him, find freedom, discover your purpose and begin to make a difference. It wasn’t over for Jesus on that Easter Sunday morning and it’s not over for you either. You are a resurrection waiting to happen!
QUESTIONS:
(1) What’s your favorite part of Easter? What are you having to do differently this Easter? What’s good and bad about that?
(2)What in your life feels dead right now? Why?
(3)Read Luke 24:1-10. Take time and read the Resurrection story. What sticks out to you?
(4)Read John 10:10 and Romans 8:11. What do these say about what Jesus wants to do for us and in us?
(5)Have you ever lost your keys or been locked in or out of your house or car? What happened? Read Revelation 1:18. Jesus wants to unlock all the dead things in our life!
(6)We talked about the “Resurrection Process” – God is SEARCHING for you so you can KNOW HIM, and then He wants to RESCUE you so you can FIND FREEDOM. He rescues you because He wants to RESTORE you. That will take some time, but He will help you DISCOVER PURPOSE in your life. Lastly, He REDEEMS you. He buys you back to live for Him to MAKE A DIFFERENCE with your purpose.
