John 20:1

I. Peter believed what he saw. . . .
Rationalism cannot explain the power of Resurrection.
Empiricism cannot explain the power of Resurrection.
Emotionalism cannot explain the power of Resurrection.
Populism cannot explain the power of Resurrection.
Prosperity cannot explain the power of Resurrection.
Fear cannot explain the power of the Resurrection
II. . . .John believed what he didn’t see
John didn’t need to see Jesus to know He was risen.
John didn’t need to see to touch Jesus to feel His strength.
John’s heart knew the truth even if his eyes didn’t see it.

1 Corinthians 15:14-58

2 Corinthians 4:7-11

If Jesus is not risen, the church has no message for a lost world. (15:14). But because of the power of the resurrection means we have the only message that matters! (Acts 4:19).
If Jesus is not risen, Christians have nothing to believe (15:14). But the power of the resurrection means that our core conviction is that Jesus' power is the only thing worth believing in! (Acts 5:42)
If Jesus is not risen, the apostles and all subsequent preachers have misrepresented God as having raised Jesus (15:15). But because of the power of the resurrection, we have the example of changed lives to see how Jesus’ changes people! (Acts 5:41)
-If Jesus is not risen, your faith is an empty, worthless shell (15:17). But because of the power of the resurrection, we are filled with a hope and a strength that will carry us knowing that both life and death are under Jesus’ authority!
-If Jesus is not risen, you are still guilty of sin and under the condemnation of its results. But because of the power of the resurrection I’m free and forgiven! (Romans 8:1)
-If Jesus Christ is not risen, those believers who died with faith in Jesus Christ are lost – forever. (15:18). But because of the power of the resurrection, we have a life far beyond the number of our days on earth. (1 Thess 4:13-18)
-If Jesus is not risen, we are very sad creatures indeed because the entirety of our hope is founded there. But BECAUSE Jesus has risen, there are no circumstances on this earth that can take from me what Jesus has given! (2 Corinthians 4:7-11)
