Sunday 6:00 AM
While our place of worship has changed from the usual place and time, we are grateful to know that the Body of Christ can worship anytime, anywhere. And a building is just that - a building. The Church is the people, not the place we worship. In these troubled times, our witness for Jesus Christ can be evident to those around us as we take wise precautions, while simultaneously living out our faith with what it means to have a peace that passes all understanding. May you be blessed this week as we see God at work through these unprecedented times. We can get through this together. Our God is able.

2 Kings 22-23: Israel has been split into two kingdoms: Israel to the north and Judah in the south.
· Josiah’s father, Amon, became ruler of Judah when he was twenty-two. He became king after his father, King Manasseh, died. Amon is said to have done evil just like his father did when he ruled. He worshipped idols like his father and did not walk in the ways of the Lord.
· Amon’s rule was short—just two years. His son, Josiah, becomes his successor.

· Amon’s rule was short—just two years. His son, Josiah, becomes his successor.
Even at a young and impressionable age (16), Josiah began seeking after God just like King David did many, many years before him.
Purging of the Kingdom
· Josiah was twenty-years old.
· The incense altars were cut to pieces.
· The Asherah poles, the idols and the image were smashed.
· The bones of the pagan priests were burned on their altars.
· Idols were crushed to powder.

Temple Repaired: In the eighteenth year of his reign Josiah proceeded to cleanse and repair the Temple.
· Shaphan carried out this directive.
· Hilkiah was to gather the money that was brought to the Temple by the people and give it to the men who were appointed to supervise the cleaning and repairing work.

Josiah calls together the elders. Together with the priests, prophets, and people, they go to the Temple where Josiah begins to read from the Book of the Covenant.
Josiah begins to purge, beginning with the Temple itself.
· He then did away with all pagan priests.
· He burned the Asherah pole and tore down the quarters of the male shrine prostitutes.
· He tore down shrines and places were incense was burned.
· He desecrated what was considered a sacred spot in the Valley of Ben Hinnom so that no one would offer burnt human sacrifices to the pagan god Molech.
· He burned the chariots dedicated to the sun.

The king also gave an order to all the people to celebrate the Passover to the Lord as commanded in the Book of the Covenant.
Josiah did what he could to turn his people’s hearts back to God. He did what he could to rid wickedness in his kingdom.
Reminders For Today
· Sin is always deceitful.
· Its effects are not limited to just you. It will affect others as well.
· Its effects are not limited to just you. It will affect others as well.
Set up restrictions so that you do not allow temptation to lead to sin.
· Stay away from others who are infected with sin and away from those who practice it.
· You cannot live out your faith to the glory of God when you are infected and spreading the sin virus.
· Stay away from others who are infected with sin and away from those who practice it.
· You cannot live out your faith to the glory of God when you are infected and spreading the sin virus.
This is not how those in Christ are to live out their faith.
Remember, Paul told the saints at Ephesus: to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires?
· We don’t entertain sin
· We put it to death.
· We get rid of it.
Get rid of the old and put on the new.
...Put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. (Col. 3:10)

Mission Trip Update
In light of current State and Federal restrictions, Pastor Jerry has made the official call to cancel the Honduras trip for this year. We understand that by the time we are suppose to leave, things may be back to normal. On the other hand, they may not be. The near future is uncertain which makes fundraising and current planning/preparation for the trip difficult.
