How To Pray
“This is where we pull a chair up to our Father’s table. We acknowledge that He has the means to feed us - whatever our hunger is. We go to Him with our most basic needs anticipating He will feed us from His bounty. We ask because it demonstrates not only our need, but our trust in His provision for us.” - Mike Breen

The Lord’s Prayer has six different movements, or buckets, for turns.

1. Our Father’s Name

2. Our Father’s Kingdom

3. Our Father’s Provision

4. Our Father’s Forgiveness

5. Our Father’s Leading

6. Our Father’s Deliverance
“Neither our minds nor our hearts are right till we see that it is as necessary and important to pray for daily bread as for the forgiveness of sins…God cares about our physical needs no less than spiritual; to Him, the basic category is that of human needs, comprising both.” - J.I. Packer
1. Give us this day our daily bread.

This is a communal prayer. We pray for one another's needs - not just our own.

We comes before me.
2. Give us this day our daily bread.

We live in day to day dependance on God.

3. Give us this day our daily bread.

"Bread" is a symbol of everything we need to survive.

NEED! Not luxury fueled by greed and consumerism.

Our basic needs are food, shelter, clothing, health, meaningful work, rest, emotional, and spiritual vitality.
Next Steps
1. Is there any need in your life that you’ve haven’t asked God for?

2. What dominates your life more, contentment or consumerism?

3. Ask a brother/sister in Christ to share a tangible need that you can pray for.

"The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." - 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 (ESV)
