Letting Go of Fear: The Fear of Failure, Pastor Chris Sommer
We continue in our message series Letting Go of Fear, as today we are talking about The Fear of Failure. So the question for the day is, “How do you define success?” It is important to think about how we are measuring success in our own lives. Management guru Peter Drucker said, “What gets measured, get managed.” So it stands to reason then that how we measure success is going to drive how we manage our lives. A faithful measure will lead to faithful management.

Many people base their success on what they ______ and what they _________; and so their definition of failure is not ____________ much or not _____________ much.
A faithful definition of success is not about what you have or do, but it is rooted in ________________. You are successful because you are living out your created purpose to be a ___________________.
If we define success _______________, we will not need to fear failure,
because the worst thing we could fear, a ____________ relationship with God, has already happened and God righted it.

We believe God wants to position Faith to be a generous body of believers able to invest in missional ministry where we live, work, play and beyond; wherever God leads us to bless those who need the Gospel. Faith members and regular attenders are on a journey to discover what it means to move from being blessed to blessing others. We give with gratitude in response to God’s grace and sacrificial love in Jesus, who already has met our deepest needs. He works through the sacrifice and generosity of His people to meet the needs of others and to fuel the mission of His church to make disciples.
