We are focusing on 3 areas this year: Prayer, Planting Seeds & Praise.

We PRAY because the spiritual warfare can only be won on our knees. Ephesians 6:18 "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."

We PLANT SEEDS because we believe that regardless of the culture and condition of this world that the word of God is still relevant and paramount to the salvation of souls and transformation of our society. Genesis 26:12 "Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the LORD blessed him."

We PRAISE because God has been better us than we deserve. Also because for 130 years God has kept Star of Bethlehem and enabled us to do ministry and much more. 1st Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light" .

If we could pray at all times, in all types of conversations with God, and take seriously our role in the kingdom work of God with others, we would begin to experience God in powerful ways. Our lives would become lives that are fueled by a passion for living for Christ. When it comes to prayer we should be "all over that!" It will help us stay on track as we strive to make a difference in the world around us for Him.
Have you ever been so distraught that you didn’t know what to pray about? We all have. It’s in these moments of struggle and stress that the spirit of God is discerns are unconscious desire and prays for us. The truth is that the Lord is always attentive to the prayers of His people. He’s the one who has invited us to come boldly into His presence. What’s more, God is so amazing that even when we struggle to pray God has promised to assist us in with our prayers.
Jesus warns his followers not to follow the same course. Senseless babbling and repetitious phrases do not win us an audience with God. Prayer is not about magic formulas or fancy speech. Prayer is about our confidence in God’s knowledge of us and responding to our needs. Through this understanding, our words don't need to be special or eloquent, just heartfelt and genuine!
How great is it to know that we can come to God fearlessly? We don’t have to be held back by our sins, shortcomings and failures. Rather, we can believe in what Jesus did and experience the help that God provides. The next time you’re feeling that you need help realize you can go to God. God's there and ready to help you out with anything you need. Take comfort in the fact that we’ve through the grace Jesus provided we can ask God to help us in our time of need!
We often tend to make a decision and then pray about it. This way of decision making is spiritually backwards. We are supposed to go to God in prayer first, thereby letting the spirit of God lead us to make the right decision. Therefore, when faced with any decision, we need to follow Jesus' example and ask God first, because then there will be no doubt, that God blessed your decision, because the decision start with God.
For Satan is like a roaming lion seeking who he can devour, he never stops, he is relentless. As a result, we cannot afford to not be alert and watchful. Jesus commanded his disciples to not sleep but to stay awake and pray, so they would not fall prey to sin. We are commanded to do the same. When we allow ourselves to be distracted, that’s when we fall victim to Satan’s attack. Therefore, since our flesh is weak, stay alert by praying so you will be victorious in Christ Jesus.
The Lord told Isaac not to go to Egypt to escape the famine but to stay in Gerar, the land of the Philistines. Isaac did so and planted, there. To reap a hundredfold would have been a good return in a normal year. But to reap such a crop during a famine and drought was a miracle. Trust that even in unbearable conditions that sowing seeds in faith will result in a great gain.

No Food (6 am - 6 pm)
In this parable, Jesus tell us the "Seed" is the "Word" of God" and it is available to everyone. When we sow seed, everyone may not receive the word in the same manner. Jesus described different types of people in the world who hears the "Word" and then showed how the “seed” affects them. So, the question you must ask is, who have you sowed seeds in, and what affect has the "Word of God" had on you?

We are told that we are to be the "aroma of Christ" to those around us. In other words, we through our words and deeds are to draw people to Christ, as oppose to push them further away. Do the people you are connected want to “taste and see that the Lord is good?” Or do they believe that the Lord and his church is stale and bad tasting?

The Apostle Paul used the example of physical exercise to illustrate a great spiritual truth, that Christians should put as much effort into the exercise unto godliness as these athletes did into the exercise of their bodies. For the athlete, the end result of his exercise makes him able to compete. The Christian who exercises, and lets his faith be exercised will be a "workman that needeth not to be ashamed."

James says that part of being a Christian means waiting on God to deliver on his promises. After your faithfulness in sowing, God will deliver, but sometimes, we must wait longer than we want. James reminds us that God’s timing is always perfect and has a purpose, so keep the faith and watch God bless for your patience and trust.

No food (6am - 6 pm)
We tend to think “Bigger is always better.” Everyone wants to be part of something big. Small things are often not valued, nor taken seriously. In this Parable Jesus taught that even the smallest seeds can do a lot. Mustard seeds after planted grow into the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree. So, let’s not overlook or undervalue the work of church and ministry, because big things often come in small packages.

The church at Corinth like churches today was personality driven. As a result, they were divisions among the people based on who they wanted to follow. Paul reminded them that work of God, is not effective because of any personality except Christ Jesus. So, let us sow seeds of unity not division as we unite under the banner of Christ.
The way we see ourselves determines to a certain extent the way we act and react in life. If we see ourselves as a loser, we tend to act like a loser. However, if we see ourselves as successful then we have confidence in our ability to succeed in the future. Peter tells us we are royalty, priest, and holy, all because God through Jesus has saved our souls. As result, look at yourself with high esteem because God does.
If sacrifices are costly then how can our praise be a sacrifice? What does it cost us to sing a few songs or to praise the name of the Lord? The words cost us nothing. Remember it is not just words that we use to offer praise but our heart. Having a heart for God, means humbly submitting to God, switching our fleshy desires for God’s, and changing our attitudes. While this takes real effort, with God all things are possible.
Glorifying God is to recognize that God worthiness is to be worshiped. When we fail to do this, we have sinned. These verses show us the proper recognition that God should receive from us. We are to declare God's glory, power, majesty, ability, strengthen, greatness and so much more. We do this by recognizing the truth about who God is, and proclaim to all that God is great and greatly to be praised!
Praising God is not a job set aside for the minister of music or the praise team. God wants the whole world to worship and give thanks to Him. It honestly is a privilege that should never become routine or artificial. Remember in order to worship God with a joyful and thankful heart we must be willing to serve, sing, submit and sacrifice.
Praise is nothing more than telling God thank you. As a result, when you praise it is actually a testimony of your personal encounter with God. Here the children of Israel praised God because of his protection and saving grace. As a result, their didn't have to borrow someone else's praise. If you ever struggle to give God, just take a moment to recall what God has done, and I bet you will have plenty reasons to Praise God.
Your mouth is a powerful tool. And yet we often let out mouth cause us to be hypocrite. One moment we are speaking praises to God, and the next we are talking bad about someone. James tells that our tongue like our mind should not be double minded. It should be express what is on our minds, which should be things that are true and noble; as oppose to on carnal. Decide today how you will use your mouth.
Worshiping in truth means worshiping the Lord revealed in Scripture. While worshiping in spirit means our whole being, taking delight in the opportunity to praise God’s name. Spend time preparing yourselves before you come to church that way you will always be able to “enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise”.
