The More You Know—Part 1
How do you view God? When you view Him as a judge, fear, guilt, and apprehension can control your life. But when you see Him as you should, you’ll discover a God who cares about you and your well-being. Essentially, your view of God directly impacts your relationship with Him. Join us throughout this series as we explore who God truly is based on what is revealed about Him in the Bible. Together, we’ll uncover the truth—that we can love and trust Him completely.

The More You Know—Part 1
[Tim Haring]
Problem: People question the existence of God.
Solution: The evidence is everywhere—God is.
"More consequences for thought and action follow from the affirmation or denial of God than from answering any other question." –Mortimer Adler
Today's Takeaway: The evidence is everywhere—God is.
• How do we explain creation?
Cosmological Argument: whatever begins to exist has a cause. The universe began to exist. Therefore, the universe had a cause.
Teleological/Design Argument: a design implies there must be an intelligent designer.
There is enough information in a single thread of human DNA to fill 600,000 pages of information. That is specified complexity, not just aesthetics. One scientist has remarked that the possibility of the human enzyme and our chemical makeup coming together by accident is one in ten to the 40,000th power. Ten to the 40,000th power is more than all the atoms in all of the known galaxies of the universe. –Ravi Zacharias
Rational Argument: the universe operates according to natural laws, which imply a mind behind it. The laws that govern our universe suggest intelligence. There is order in our universe.

• How do we explain creation?
• Where did we get our sense of right and wrong?
• Why does beauty exist?
“…How likely it is that non-purposeful natural laws should produce the objective beauty that we find all around us. For example, the features of the world such as a sun-set, fall in Vermont, the human body, the Rocky Mountains [and] the singing of birds. . . all exhibit real, objective beauty and suggests that: the beauty in the examples cannot be accounted for in terms of survival value, natural selection, and the like.” –J.P. Moreland
• How do we explain creation?
• Where did we get our sense of right and wrong?
• Why does beauty exist?
• Why does the whole world have a concept of God?
If every effect has a cause adequate to produce it, God is the only cause adequate to produce such a universal belief in God. Therefore, the universal belief in God was caused by God and is evidence that God exists.
