Breakthrough–Easter at The Ridge

Breakthrough–Easter at The Ridge

On the night Jesus was betrayed, his disciples fled in fear. Their hero had been arrested, and would soon be crucified and buried—they were hopeless and discouraged. Then, everything changed. Jesus rose from the dead. The disciples became courageous. Hopelessness turned to joy. This was the breakthrough for everyone. The Apostle Paul wrote that the very power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work within our lives as Christians. Through the power of the resurrection, we can experience breakthroughs in our own lives. This Easter, we will explore how the resurrection changes everything.

Breakthrough—Tim Haring

Problem: We don't recognize the power of the resurrection.
Solution: Because Jesus broke out of the tomb, we can experience a breakthrough.
Webster's Dictionary
Breakthrough: an act or instance of moving through or beyond an obstacle
English Oxford Living Dictionary
Breakthrough: A sudden, dramatic, and important discovery or development
Today's Takeaway
Because Jesus broke out, we can experience a breakthrough.
Because Jesus rose again from the dead, we receive:
• A pardon for the past
• Power for the present
• A promise for the future
“Luther’s overactive mind was constantly finding ways in which he had fallen short, and every time he went to confession, he confessed all of his sins, as he was supposed to do, but then, knowing that even one unconfessed sin would be enough to drag him down to hell, he racked his brain for more sins and found more. There was no end to them.” –Eric Metaxa
