As a person you are defined by the promises you make and keep.
The first place to keep and honor your word is with God.
Numbers 30:2 If a man makes a vow to the Lord, or takes an oath to bind himself with a binding obligation, he shall not violate his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.

“Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You, 2 even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life.”
God treats His Word as sacred and takes your word just as seriously.
Psalms 15:1,2, 4c
O Lord, who may abide in Your tent?
Who may dwell on Your holy hill?
2 He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness,
And speaks truth in his heart….He swears to his own hurt and does not change;
Everything depends on promises being kept so God holds us accountable for our promises.
Psalms 66:13b-14
I shall pay You my vows,
Which my lips uttered
And my mouth spoke when I was in distress.
Ecclesiastes 5:4ab
When you make a vow, do not be late in paying it because God takes no delight in fools.
Proverbs 22:1a
“A good name is to be more desired than great riches.”
You can only have a life of fulfillment, happiness and joy by making and keeping promises.
