Week 3:
“Born Again”
(John 3:1-18)

What does being "Born Again" mean?
Being "Born Again" IS NOT:
1. Escaping a bad relationship.
2. Eliminating bad habits.
3. Having an emotional experience.
4. Adopting religious teachings.
5. Giving mental assent to Christian beliefs.

Being "Born Again" IS:
1. The work of a capable parent. (The work of God)
2. Awakening of a spiritually dead person.
3. Receiving of a new nature.
4. Being in-dwelt by the Holy Spirit.
5. Inheriting eternal life.
Repentance is like antiseptic. You pour antiseptic onto a wound and it stings, but it heals. That's how repentance works. It creates a terrible inner turmoil, because you have to admit things you don't want to admit.
—Pastor Tim Keller
