Distinguished: Dictionary: used to describe a respected and admired person, or their work.
To “distinguish yourself” is to do something so well that you are admired and praised for it.

1. Determined
Daniel was determined (single-minded, had made up his mind, resolved or KJV “purposed in his heart”) to honour God and obey him no matter the cost.
Determination is your anchor in a storm and your base in days of battle. Daniel’s deepest determination was loyalty to God and that’s where an excellent spirit always starts.
The spirit of excellence is a different spirit that is determined, devoted and loyal to God no matter what the cost. We also note that a “spirit of excellence” is also characterised by faith and wholehearted trust in God.

An excellent spirit comes from a foundation of humility, prayer and thanksgiving.
Daniel was humble and dependent on God and therefore prayed 3 times per day.
The extent to which you are dependent on God (revealed in prayer) determines the strength of your determination and therefore your power.
Prayer connect man’s weakness with God’s power empowering you to live a life of excellence, victory, love, peace and joy.
An excellent spirit recognises our weakness, limitations and struggles and so depends heavily on God’s power and grace through prayer.

Vine Kids
We are pleased to welcome new children and their families to Vine Church Children’s Gangs.
Our children’s Gangs are for all children from age 1 to those in Primary 7. Our Gang’s operate during the message part of the service and we enjoy bible stories, games, toys, craft, prayer, worship, snacks and lots of fun together.

As a church we have numerous stories of people who have had prayer answered and seen incredible miracles take place. We have stories of; miraculous healings, miraculous protection from danger and harm, children being born when it seemed impossible, hospitals and orphan’s villages being built in Haiti and many, many more examples that God still answers prayer today and miracles do happen.

The Vine church is as effective as our people. The greatness of our church relies on the heart of our people and their willingness to serve others. Our church functions because ordinary people give their time, talents and energy willingly and cheerfully to serve others.
Joining a team is an excellent way to get connected into the life of our church, make friends and help the church to grow. In fact the growth in health and size of our church depends on every member serving and “doing their own special work”:
“…as each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is growing and full of love.”

1. Fight Club: This is for everyone and will focus on men becoming healthy physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. There will be CURRY on these nights!
2. Fight Club Church: This is for those who have an interest in growing healthy spiritually using teaching from the Christian faith.

“Music is in my blood. Growing up to Cash, Dylan, Seeger, Springsteen, Paul Simon & The Beatles I guess my musical DNA was set from an early age.
I wanted to write the soundtrack to something great.
I learnt from the protest singers of the 60’s that if you write the words you can start a revolution.
And if you write melodies you could help people have a good time too.
So I decided to write songs.
