Heartland Community Church
Sunday Worship January 13, 2019
The smallest things often make the biggest difference: a shifting foundation can bring down a house, a small spark can ignite a huge fire, a single act of kindness can change a life, or a single word can change someone’s eternity. We place a lot of emphasis on the big things, but they all start with little steps. Join us as we look at the small, seemingly insignificant, things Jesus did that make all the difference in our lives today.

Oleta Beckwith has been dealing with some health issues for the last few months. Please pray for her wellness and that the new medications she is on will help.
Amber Graves had her baby on January 3rd, over one month early. Adrianna was flown to Wesley and has a feeding tube and is on oxygen, but is doing better. Please pray for Adriana to continue to improve and grow, and for Amber and Cecil as well.
Please pray for Grace Bradburn, Mark & Krista Ball’s daughter. Grace is due to deliver their son Eli Roy mid-February but was having contractions. They were able to get the contractions to stop with medication. Please pray that Grace will carry Eli to term and that he will be completely healthy.
Fred Schultz has been having a lot of back/sciatica pain. Please pray for relief and for the doctors to find the cause.
Continue to pray for Susan Phillips, Mark Ball’s sister. Her recent scans show that the tumors in her lung and abdomen are growing slightly. The doctor is taking her off the IV chemo and starting her on a clinical trial that will have her taking two medications. Please pray she can tolerate this new treatment well and for maximum effectiveness.
Letitia Elder, Candy Murphy’s mother, has been having back pain and other health troubles. Please pray for relief from the pain and for her wellness.
Mike Elder, Candy Murphy’s brother, has shingles, pneumonia and immune system trouble. Please pray for his healing.

Sermon Notes & Scripture
Small Things, Big Difference
All That God Requires
Matt Schaffner
It's easy to be a fan, but hard to be a follower.
Jesus chose to be baptized to do "ALL that God requires."
To be our righteousness, Jesus had to fulfill ALL righteousness. He chose to humble Himself and do everything to fully identify with His sinful creation.
The great exchange begins here but is fully witnessed and endorsed by the entire godhead as God the Father supernaturally seals God the Son with God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus' baptism is a physical representation of the deeper spiritual truth: He fully surrendered Himself to the mission of redemption and our salvation.
“Let God have your life; He can do more with it than you can.”
D.L. Moody
