Chestnut Ridge Church
The birth of Christ was a turning point. All of history can be divided by events that took place before and after Christ. This series will explore the birth of Christ through the lens of the original Old Testament. Long before Christ was born, the Christmas story was presented by prophets sent by God. This holiday season, we’ll focus on those stories and learn how we can apply them to the present.

B.C.—Before Christmas: Part 1 (Tim Haring)

Problem: We think we are alone.
Solution: We can trust the Lord because he is Immanuel, God with us.
Today's Takeaway: We don’t have to be afraid because God is with us.
A Jewish engagement was a binding agreement that could only be broken by divorce. - HCSB
God was telling Ahaz, “Trust in me. Stand firm. I will be with you.”
We don’t have to be afraid because God is with us.
Ahaz, by rejecting the offer of a sign from God’s messenger, was in effect rejecting the One who sent the prophet.7 - J.A. Martin
Immanuel is our Prince of Peace, so:
-Turn to him.
-Call out to him.
-Trust him.
-Find him to be Immanuel.

We don’t have to be afraid because God is with us
