1. Wisdom Waits — Genuine wisdom leaves room for God to work (16:5–14).

• Wisdom refuses to retaliate simply because it has the power to do so (5-10).
• Wisdom recognizes that God may be accomplishing purposes we cannot yet see (10-11).
• Waiting on God often requires humility and self-control (10-14).

Action Step: Where are you tempted to “fix” a situation through anger, revenge, or control instead of patiently trusting God?

2. Wisdom Rejects Mere Human Solutions — Human wisdom cannot accomplish what only God can do (16:15–17:14).

• Human wisdom can appear remarkably effective (15-23).
• Human wisdom often measures success without considering God’s will (1-4).
• God can overturn even the best human plans (5-14).

Action Step: Ask yourself, “Is my decision shaped primarily by God’s Word or simply by what seems most practical?”

3. Wisdom Trusts God’s Providence — God’s purposes cannot be defeated (17:14–23).

• God accomplishes His purposes through ordinary people and ordinary events (14-17).
• God’s providence quietly overrules human schemes (17-22).
• Those who build their hopes upon human wisdom are ultimately left empty (23).

Action Step: Trust God’s providence even when His purposes are invisible. Faith often means believing God is working before we can see the results.
